Tim Eberhardt

Tim Eberhardt has been in love since he saved and bought his first guitar from Sears as a teenager. He honed his musicianship through hours of practice on favorite songs by popular artists, folk music, and church music. He appreciated the guitar for its ability to bring people together in song, and to accompany his own developing voice. Eventually, and after much research, Tim bought his first Martin guitar, choosing it particularly for its sound and ease of play.

Fast forward a number of years, and Tim has developed a critical eye for hardwoods and fine workmanship in old furniture. He began refinishing items he found in garage sales and front porches, filling his home with rejuvenated buffets, tables, chests and even a grand piano. His growing knowledge of woods and finishing materials dovetailed with his developing expertise at repairing old and building new furniture. His regard for the beauty, function and construction of fine wood furniture naturally extended to acoustic instruments, and particularly to the instrument he played. He became interested in the possibility of building a guitar. A "kit" of materials and blueprints from Martin became his segue into the world of luthiery, with a local college class providing initial guidance. Thus began a 20 year career dedicated to the mastery of crafting fine acoustic guitars.

An Eberhardt guitar looks beautiful, has exceptional sound quality, and is easy to play. Tim works to fine-tune his instruments both visually and acoustically to his own and his client's satisfaction. Through his guitars, Tim and his client become partners in bringing fine music to the world.

Eberhardt Guitar SJ-SIR Cutaway Model For Sale

SJ – Florentine

$3349

This model SJ comes with Indian Rosewood back and sides, and Sitka Spruce top. Guitar has a unique Florentine cutaway for easy access to the upper frets and attractive style without loosing tone. Chevron purfling and back spine, and abalone rosette enhance this guitar.

The SJ has a rich sound that is lighter than a Jumbo or Dreadnaught and stronger than an orchestra model giving it a “not too big, not too small” size and tone. The body depth is also between a deep dreadnaught and a thinner parlor. Forward X bracing on the top helps enhance the tone which is very pleasant; great for a finger stylist.

As with most of Eberhardt guitars, the neck is slightly wider and thinner than most factory guitars.

Eberhardt Guitar Dreadnaught SIR For Sale

Dreadnaught

SOLD (but I can make more)

This Dreadnaught model comes with matching Indian Rosewood back and sides, Sitka Spruce top, and inlaid abalone rosette.

This guitar has a wonderful big sound but not too much low end. It will challenge other instruments to keep up. It has an auditorium sound but also a tonal quality that is great for finger stylist. Low profile string action and neck thickness make this very easy to play.

Eberhardt Guitar SJ-SIR Model (OM) For Sale

SJ – Western Red Cedar

$3199

Small Jumbo guitar with Indian Rosewood back and sides and Western Red Cedar soundboard. You can see `the “sister” guitar like this played by David Wilcox, a well known singer-songwriter. He has one just like it and is very complimentary of his Eberhardt guitar.

Western Red Cedar top gives this guitar a warm sound with plenty strength. It is ideally suited for finger styling on stage, backyard, or in the living room. The deep cedar color sets it apart from many spruce top guitars and enhances the sense of rich warmth of this guitar.
